Springtime Strawberry Symphony in Red—the unforgettable cake
Eric and I are both musicians, so quite often, we engage in discussions about music, and how its effects imbue life with deeper meaning. Eric brought up how a symphony is comprised of three major components: low, high, and percussion.
The Springtime Strawberry Symphony in Red is a masterpiece of confectionery musicianship, with its soft but deceptively firm genoise foundation that cantilevers the fluffy vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream, lifting the sweet strawberry beat high to support a gravity-defying cadence of color, texture, and flavor. A steady rhythm that reminds us of life’s inward spiral that winds in a fugue of sorts. Hypnotizing us—taking us deeper into a reverie that assures us that Spring will come again. It always does. It lives inside our hearts. It reciprocates the joyful feeling of meeting. We visit it from within, and it always returns to see us again, with a snow-melting smile that shines with the yellow Sun.
Seriously. I can hear the Vivaldi playing in my imaginary garden while I enjoy a slice of this masterpiece.
